Chamber String Group

Chamber groups generally choose their own music, although our Musical Director can help find suitable music

The Chamber String Group meets every Saturday from 9.00am – 10.15am and has between three and six members depending who can be there on any particular week.   We play a variety of music including some of the easier string quartets in the repertoire.  We also search out string trios (for Violin, Viola and Cello); while relatively rare there are some very pleasing pieces for this combination of instruments.  We also play arrangements and compositions from a wide variety of music held by Furness Music Centre or the wider Cumbria Music Hub.  On occasion other members join us to make , say, a clarinet quintet …

The Chamber String Group has played for weddings – generally those of other members or their children – and we occasionally make appearances in our concerts.
